Vaggelis Psyllakis, a student at the University of Thessaly in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics started his thesis in collaboration with the Biondt Lab. The purpose of the thesis is the documentation of nasal mucosa blood supply changes under the effect of pharmaceutical agents. Measurements will be performed with the use of a multispectral imaging camera coupled to an endoscope to better characterize blood spectral features. The project has two main focus areas:
To perform the first pilot measurements on normal patients
To process and analyze data
Lastly the characteristic tissue changes identified will be correlated with existing knowledge of the pharmaceutical agent effects.
